Idle Armies, a new game where you can act as hero or villain: App of the Week.

The week begins and in Applesfera we present a new application for you to get the most out of your iOS devices. In this opportunity, we want to share an entertaining game of clicks, with which we may be constantly changing sides to be the heroes or villains of the story. The idea is to be as fast as possible to eliminate our enemies and advance the story.

It’s Idle Armies, a title that recently made its way to the App Store, inspired by all those classic arcades of the 8 and 16-bit era, so its graphics take us to the trunk of memories, to a retro world where buttons are conspicuous by their absence. Today I’ll tell you how this mobile game works, as well as give you a little taste of its history from the hands of its creators.

Idle Armies is a game of clicks, which invites us to fight against different characters by clicking on the scenario as fast as possible. When opening the game we meet Ivan, a character who aims to kill a vicious orc called Max. The idea is that over the course of the game, you can be quick to get gold coins or diamonds that will help you recruit new allies like the sarcastic Sabrina, the enthusiastic Lil Dan and the always silent Meg.

Plus, for faster progress, we can unlock powerful spells to freeze your enemies, blow them to pieces, unlock upgrades, or hire archers at nearby barracks. At first, we noticed that the game can be relatively easy, but the difficulty increases as we progress.

So that the game doesn’t become monotonous or slow, it’s important to be as fast as possible with the clicks, which will help you get rid of your enemies easily. We even advise you to place the device on a flat surface and touch the screen with both hands in order to raise the number of clicks.

Best of all, the game doesn’t just have to be Ivan. Idle Armies also allows us to put ourselves in the enemy’s shoes and play as the Max orc. In the course of the game, we will encounter different scenarios ranging from a gold mine full of human prisoners to swamps or wasteland.

The game was published in Product Hunt and its developer, Grumpy Rhino Games, indicated that by unlocking powerful curses or buying powerful items, we will be able to reach our goals more easily. In addition to being able to make purchases within the app, Idle Armies allows us to view ads for some extra benefits.

The creators: we interviewed the brain behind Idle Armies

When we tried Idle Armies we wanted to contact the brain behind this idea to know its beginnings. Sebastian Davies, a creator of the game, told us the story of this new title. First of all, Davies told us that he wanted to create a game where users could play like the good guys and the bad guys in the story.

“Imagine a game in which you’re creating two strong armies and then, eventually, you set them to fight each other. This was my main inspiration for creating Idle Armies,” said the creator.

Sebastian Davies commented that in the last year and a half he began to explore the genre of click games, which was very useful for him to start improving the quality of his creations. It’s said that these kinds of titles are quite addictive because they create a routine and a feeling of satisfaction in players who are gradually noticing the progress they’re making.
